The University of Hawaii at Hilo Jazz Orchestra will take its popular Frank Zappa show on the road Saturday for a one-night-only performance at 7 p.m. at Honokaa People’s Theatre.

“Last year we were invited to performed at the Honokaa People’s Theatre for the first time. We had a great time playing the show and the Honokaa audience gave us an incredible welcome. We are beyond thrilled to have been invited back this year,” said Musical Director Trever Veilleux. He added that “what you will see is more akin to a rock concert than a typical university jazz band recital.”

The setlist focuses on Zappa’s bestselling albums from the 1970s such as “Joe’s Garage,” “Apostrophe’” and “One Size Fits All,” and features plenty of Zappa’s trademark humor and musicianship.

Tickets are $15.
